New pair of shoes (Inov8 Flyroc)

I eventually went for the Inov8 Flyroc 345 GTX. The Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra felt generally good, but their sole was a bit too cushioned for me. I'm also a bit skeptical with their fast lacing system: Rachel got them mud-jammed during Tough Guy and they became hardly usable. The Flyroc looks less "techie" but tougher. Just keep it simple!
Ultra trail shoes.

there was a heck of a lot of mud there though!
Hmmm....most people say that the Salomons have too little cushioning. I´ve owned two pairs and the are good on soft trails but not as good on hard packed trail or asphalt. How are the Inov8´s?
The salomon don't have much cushioning, but it still seems more than the Inov-8 which have very stiff soles. They're quite noisy if you run on concrete! They actually gave me blisters on the back of the heels, and this is very unusual for me. I reserve my final opinion for later.
I understand that Borkur prefers his shoes with high heels and a nice little strap over....
I've eventually managed to try it on muddy terrain last week. I'm quite impressed by the grip to be honest. The downside of the sole is that it gathers load of mud and small rocks.
